Traversing the lands of Skyrim can be quite peaceful, but also deadly.
Because of this, having a companion with you is advised, even if only for the companionship. Considering many aspects, here are my top 5 modded companions and why:
Number 5: Zeeri
Mod: 3 New Argonian Followers | Get It
Zeeri is a great archer! That’s probably because he starts at level 31 – So he’s definitely a mid-game companion, unless you want some reassurance early on.
I personally enjoy Zeeri for the simple fact that I do enjoy the company of Argonians and Skyrim just doesn’t have enough of them. I used to always look for Argonian slaves to free during my playthroughs of Morrowind.
Number 4: Idhara
Mod: Marriable Female Khajiits | Get It
Idhara is the Spellsword of the newly added Khajiits. She levels with you during your journey, and she’s a force to be recon with! Some lore fans may hate that she does not have a standard Khajiit’s voice, but it’s always possible that a Khajiit’s dialect and accent can be different depending on how they were raised.
Idhara’s character works well for my playthrough due to the fact that her being a Spellsword works well in my custom LotW Lore of Redguards amongst Khajiits, where she learned the style.
Number 3: Cerwiden
Ceri is one of my favorite followers for the simple fact that she is a healer! Not many followers heal you and the other companions, but it doesn’t make it too easy since she has a limited amount of Magika and she’s not afraid to use most of it for throwing strong lightning bolts through the air!
The only downside to her is that she talks a lot, and a lot of it is the same thing over and over… luckily you can ask her to talk less.
She also comes with her own quest! (Which I’ve yet to unlock.)
Number 2: Zora Fair-Child
Mod: Interesting NPCs | Get It
Zora is just AMAZING! I don’t want to spoil too much, but she’s witty, kind, funny, and has a very interesting and sad backstory. You’ll learn about her past, and as such, the origin of the hand shape burn scar on her face.
She’s a two handed warrior who enjoys battle. She will definitely save your life a few times, and then advise you on what kind of hero to be… also she interacts well with Khajiit followers!
NUMBER 1!: Inigo
Inigo, is by far, my FAVORITE of all companions – in ANY GAME. Not once have I felt such a strong kinsmen-ship with a virtual character before. The witty remarks, the jokes, the responses from turning into a werewolf, all fantastic! He always comes through for you in the end.
My fangirling aside, Inigo is an archer first, but can also throw down with a blade amongst many sword flinging warriors. He comes with a very interesting story with the character that you can choose to go with or eventually tell him he’s wrong. He also has a story prior to meeting you that involves his late brother.
Inigo has truly become like a brother to me in the world of Skyrim.
I hope you’ve enjoyed my selection. If you have any questions, please feel free to leave them below!
