TowelRoot by Geohot Will Probably Root Your Phone

If you’re like me, then you have a love for having complete and total access to your phone if you choose. Lately many phone owners were unable to root their phones after an update to KitKat, but thanks to a hero by the name Geohot in the Android Community (and the XDA Community) we have been given the chance to root our devices once more!

Using an app called TowelRoot (download here) you’re able to root most phones – pretty much any that isn’t made after June 3rd (or possible models made after that point). Simply run the tr.apk, install it, and run it. Afterwards click “Make it Ra1n” and your device should reboot and have root.

If however you use SuperSU app and it’s unable to install the updated binaries, chances are you need the most updated version (download here). Now PLEASE do not make the mistake that I made and think it’s a zip that you flash, this will likely reset your phone (or probably brick, though I doubt it). Simply unzip the file and browse through the folders until you find the .apk file. Run that .apk and it should update your SuperSU.
