Microsoft continues to remove options that grant independent use of their operating system, creeping ever closer into wanting to watch every action you take.

Microsoft Is Spoon-Feeding You Bull💩...

"We are removing known mechanisms for creating a local account in the Windows Setup experience...”

- Amanda Langowski

Microsoft's Amanda Langowski has "explained" that they're planning to remove all work-arounds for creating local accounts, stating that it creates too many opportunities of ruining the OS installation if a user exits certain screens which leads to some configurations not completing their setup.

Enough users would use built-in methods, created by Microsoft, to create a local account because it's a desire for many to just create a local account. To make an account without internet would be a local account... but enough users did so, that - instead of just implementing the option to make a local account in the interface - the "solution" was just to remove all ability for local account creation... to – what was it, Amanda? It's their product, they can do what they want with it - but I'm done giving them my money if they're going to still reach their hands into my property that I purchased and tell me what to do with it.
