Lenovo and Google Dives Further into Virtual Reality

You may remember that back in 2016 Google tossed their hats into the “Virtual Reality” world by dropping their “Day Dream” project to the public. Now that Google has showcased their latest I/O event, we’ve been told that Google is teaming up with Lenovo for their next VR move.

Named “World Sense”, Google and Lenovo aim to have a “standalone virtual reality” experience, being able to connect to various devices from your cellphones to a desktop computer, all the while pushing their “6 degrees of freedom” moniker for the system. 6DOF is said to be their way of having your physical location tracked in the virtual world, meaning when you duck in real life, you duck in the virtual reality, same with jumping to the side and etc. — all without camera tracking systems.

Overall the device’s outline looks interesting, however I must admit – it looks like the Samsung VR device strapped onto the PlayStation VR head mount… which isn’t a bad thing to say the least as the PS VR headset is one of most comfortable headsets to date.

Either way, you can stay up to date  via Lenovo’s World Sense page, as well as staying tune to Essence Of Zen. Maybe we’ll pick one up when they’re available.
