Anime, and manga review

Feb-4-2015 Anime, and Manga review

Hello everyone. This is the first anime, manga review of a hopefully long series of reviews. Here we are going to be going over three highly suggested anime, and manga titles. The age range is from all ages to 16+ only. Sorry if you were expecting something a little more adult, but anime is for all ages. Even if it is rated as a kid friendly anime; anyone should be able to enjoy them. As a note the titles are ranging from the most popular, to the most rare, or obscure of titles. We do not discriminate from the more famous to the least of known. That said. We will start this review off with a personal favorite.

Tenkuu no Escaflown (Vision of Escaflowne)

As a lot of hardcore anime fans know. This series is a wonder to behold. The artistry was masterfully done, and give it a little more of a realistic touch. Though the anime is in fact a anime. You can almost feel like you are there with the wonderful scenery, and action packed fight scenes. This anime is accepted as a well loved title in most anime collections. The music done by Hajime Mizoguchi, and Yoko Kanno gave it a special touch to the anime. This anime does have a manga version which has a lot more then what the anime series has in it. If you have some unanswered questions. The manga would do that, and some. There is also one movie for the anime series. though a lot of people think it was a stand alone anime movie which compressed the series down to a two hour movie.

Little about the series: The series is about a girl (Hitomi Kanzaki) who is called to another world to be the “wing goddess” who leads the world of Gaia to either salvation, or annihilation. She is met by two “Dragons” Lord Van Fanel, and Lord Folken Fanel. These two brothers both try to get Hitomi to come to their side. In their adventures Lord Van, and Hitomi makes a lot of friends, and some rather unsavory enemies.

TV Rating: 13+
Author rating: 8/10

                                                    Neo Ranga

Neo Ranga: What more can I say? It is very different. Three sisters inherit an nation, and with it a deity, Ranga. They take him back to Japan where is was not so well received by the government, as well as a secret organization who worship a dying god. The three sisters have a different use for Ranga. The youngest sister Yuuhi Shimabara sees him like a pet, and that she should be treated like the royalty she is. The middle sister Ushio Shimabara who just wants to keep him home, and out of sight, a silent protector of the Shimabara house hold. The oldest sister Minami Shimabara however. Wants to use him for personal gain. Selling charms, and opening a shrine in the back yard. The military wants it dead, and the secret organization wants Ranga the same. In this two season anime series you will learn a lot about the personalities of each sister, and the wonders of Ranga.
This series is fairly clean till season two. Then you will see partial nudity, and a lot more violence. It still is within the 16+ or below rating though.

TV Rating: 16+
Author rating: 9/10

Tenshi ni narumon (Wanna be an angel)

Wanna be an angel. this is one of the more random, yet doesn’t stay from the storyline for long type anime. Its storyline is about a girl, and a boy. The girl loves the boy, and the boy has no idea what is going on. You can see a little of a tenshi effect, or girl magnet effect in this series, but all in all. it stays in the confines of the main characters being together. There is a plot twist in this one that would make you scratch your head. So fair warning to all those that are interested in the story. This anime has a more common type storyline, but they make their characters have their own personality, and not just a standard, or common type. There is some nudity, but everything is covered, or censored. So this one is partially kid friendly.

TV Rating: 16+ in usa, but 13+ almost everywhere else.
Author rating: 8/10

Tate no yuusha nariagari (Rise of the shield hero)

Wow. This one. There is a lot to really say about it. It tricks you on its storyline for one. You may think it a common “guy gets summoned to a new world to save it”, and it completely rips the rug out from under you. There is some adult situations in the first book. You really can see how evil a corrupt kingdom can be in this one.
