About Essence of Zen!
Essence of Zen is an open organization driven to give any user/viewer/supporter/stranger tools to better
themselves.
This derives from our name itself - The nature of finding "enlightenment"
(*cough* Ingress *cough*) in a sense with
the journey to gaining knowledge, and giving that knowledge to others without hassle.
We hope to one day shatter the norm that many drop on their users. Remember to resist
conforming
with commonality. (*achoo* Ingress *achoo*)
Who are Essence of Zen?
Essence of Zen was created by College students who were looking for a way to
both increase their skills as well as help others in the process. Before the evolution of the group
there were many
ideas for open source programs that may benefit others like us -- but we're always increasing our
skills
to complete these projects.
Remember: We're not professionals yet! So there are likely to be errors or ways to do something better! But that's where building an awesome community comes into play!
The group itself was created from previous iterations of previous groups such as "CZZC". Because of that, there are many who we thank for aiding us in forming EoZ.
Our Goals
Our goals range from simply expressing our hobbies and allowing others to enjoy their own, to one day
becoming a organization that helps the world
with open source technology, green technology, and an open and free internet for all.
Our current goals in focus today are as followed:
Graduate College!
Stabilize the website.
Increase video production quality.
Finish some of our unlisted programming projects.
Take over the world.
What We Do
Gigabyte 990FXA-UD7
Overall, we tinker with anything technology related as our hobby. This includes testing motherboards, graphics cards, building small little devices on protoboards, programming something stupid, playing games, modding games, making mods, and much much more.
The tools at our disposal varies greatly so some projects may seem a bit... weird. We sometimes "Jerry rig" many of our builds/contraptions due to us being college students! In the end, if you want to build something without the funds - you have to get creative!
